For the POSIX or ksh shell, in addition to /etc/profile and .profile, if $ENV is set, the file specified by this variable is invoked each time a new shell is invoked. Normally the file spcified by $ENV will be /home_directory/.kshrc. This file can be used to set aliases and other user specific settings.
