Creating a mksysb tape

  1. Enter command mksysb -i /dev/rmtx - to create a tape on device /dev/rmtx

Building from a mksysb tape

  1. Switch key to maintenance mode and power up system

  2. From menu check that boot path is set to system default then select option 6, exit menu and boot

  3. At prompt,"turn key to normal and hit enter", DON'T turn key, just hit enter

  4. Enter tape when prompted and continue to boot
