Some boxes such as G40s and J40s have engineer diagnostic mode. This can be accessed by entering ssb when the machine is booting up.

Smaller boxes don't have this but some can be switched into diagnostic mode by booting up with the key switched to secure mode. When the lcd shows 200, switch to maintenance mode
