How the connection process works
- A connection request is sent from the client to the host
- The inetd daemon listens on all ports
- The number of the port the request is made on is looked up in /etc/services
- /etc/services gives the service name associated with the port number
- This service name is looked up in inetd.conf. This entry then gives instructions on
what service to run
