To stop, from root enter: su - ingres -c "iishutdown -s"

To start, from root enter: su - ingres -c "iistartup"

Checking Ingres

1. su - ingres

2. runiinamu iidbms (this gives pid)

3. iimonitor pid

4. At prompt IIMONITOR> show sessions

5. There should be 7 sessions plus iimonitor session

6. enter quit to leave
